WHO WE ARE

Passionate about individualized care.

About Me

Jessica KosciewIcz, MS, RD, LDN (she/her)

I am a registered dietitian, who helps people adapt and change their lifestyle so they can have a happy and healthy relationship with food and their bodies.  I use researched-based nutrition knowledge together with behavioral techniques to help motivate my clients.  Each client is given individualized care with a plan to accommodate their needs and specific challenges.  I work with both adults and adolescents.  My specialties include: eating disorders, disordered/emotional eating, weight management, and chronic disease management and prevention.

I operate a private practice providing individual nutrition counseling to weight management and eating disorder clients. I served as the Nutrition Program Director at BALANCE Eating Disorder Treatment Center where I developed programs, supervised the nutrition team, facilitated groups and meals, and provided individual counseling. I am invested in providing nutrition services to underserved individuals, such as the trans, non-binary and queer people.  I have presented on treating trans and gender non-conforming clients with eating disorders at the Philadelphia Trans Wellness Conference and the Renfrew Center Foundation Conference.

I hold a Masters in Nutrition and Dietetics Clinical Nutrition from New York University, and acquired clinical experience in the highly competitive internship program at NewYork-Presbyterian Hospital and during a fellowship in ambulatory oncology.  In 2018 I co-taught a Masters class for registered dietitians entitled Nutrition Counseling Theory and Practice at New York University.

Janessa is a dedicated and compassionate certified eating disorder registered dietitian and supervisor with over 15 years of experience in the field. Throughout her career, she has had the privilege of working with individuals struggling with various eating disorders, helping them navigate their journey towards recovery. Over the years, she accumulated a wealth of knowledge and expertise by working at several residential treatment centers. Gentle nutrition plays a vital role in the healing process, ensuring that she can provide effective and evidence-based care.

In addition to her professional work, Janessa is an advocate for raising awareness about eating disorders and promoting body positivity. She believes in challenging societal norms and supporting individuals in embracing their unique selves.
